FREE LOFT INSULATION FOR HOME OWNERS AND PRIVATELY RENTED PROPERTIES

If you only have 150mm of loft insulation you will qualify for government funding to top it up if your property has a council band tariff of A,B,C or D and an EPC rating of C,D,E,F or G.

Standard loft installation is appropriate for most home all laid in between and over the joists.

Generally speaking if your home has an accessible loft with no damp or condensation issues, it will be a good candidate for loft insulation.

Even if you already have some insulation it may need a top up. The recommended depth a mineral wool insulation (the most common) is 270mm (approximately a foot) but there are many other materials out there (usually more expensive) which require different depths.

Loft insulation is effective for at least 40 years and will pay for itself over and over again in that time .

Some people might be eligible for funding (see below) towards the cost of professional installation, depending on your circumstances and how much insulation you currently have. If you are unsure why not have an Energy report conducted on the property.
